Internal Notebook CDROM drive Manuals

The TEAC Slim-line CDROM drives have been typically purchased by System Integrators who implement the drives into their applications.   These drives have not been available in retail kits.  Therefore, End User manuals for this type of drives are also NOT available.

NOTE:  If your Notebook PC came with a pre-installed TEAC CDROM drive, please contact your system's manufacturer for documentation.

Developers / System Integrators Documentation

TEAC America provides two types of manuals for those customers that are integrating the CDROM drives into their hardware application design.

1. The Hardware specification manual includes information such as:

  1. Physical dimensions

  2. Reliability information (MTBF)

  3. Environmental conditions

  4. Power Interface and connectors

  5. IDE hardware interface (Pinouts)

  6. Electrical characteristics

To obtain this manual at no cost to you, simply request it via E-mail.  The manual in PDF format will be attached in the reply.  Please send your request to  DSPDTSG@TEAC.COM.  Unfortunately, hard-copies of the manual will not be sent out.

2. The Software specification manual includes detailed information on the command set supported by the TEAC drive.  This is useful if you are developing software drivers or developing the support code for a specific recording software program.

To obtain this manual at no cost to you, you must sign a Non-Disclousure Agreement (NDA) with TEAC America. Once the NDA is received from you and TEAC management approves it, the software specification manual in PDF format will be sent to you via E-mail.  Please request the NDA form via E-mail from DSPDTSG@TEAC.COM. Unfortunately, hard-copies of the manual will not be sent out.
