The TEAC CD-552E 52X Max. CD-ROM drive provides unbeatable performance and reliability. It features a maximum 7.8MB per second data transfer rate that delivers smooth multimedia playback. It spins at a Constant Angular Velocity (CAV) which optimizes the drive's data transfer rate by rotating the disc at a consistent speed. Combine it's fast data throughput with a quick 120ms average access time and you have a drive with unsurpassed CD-ROM performance.

Whether you're playing video clips, listening to music, or installing new software, the TEAC 52X fits the bill. It reads all major CD formats and a few others including Video CD, CD Plus and Photo CD. In addition, the drive supports both standard 12cm and mini 8cm CDs and reads both CD-R and CD-RW media.

The CD-552E is available in a choice of black or white. Install it horizontally or vertically, in either direction. It utilizes an IDE/ATAPI interface, which provides the easiest integration available. And like all TEAC drives, its rugged design is rock solid and designed for many years of dependable use.
