Montebello, CA — July 27, 2006 — TEAC America, Inc. (TCA) announced that Koichiro Nakamura has been promoted to President, effective immediately. Nakamura, who joined TEAC in 1998 as Controller/CFO, succeeds Hajime Yamaguchi, who passed away earlier this month from heart failure in Japan. Prior to joining TEAC America, Inc., Nakamura held corporate positions in administration and finance with TEAC Corporation of Japan, parent company of TCA. Nakamura will preside over all sales, product development and technical support for TEAC, TASCAM and ESOTERIC branded products for the USA, Canada, Mexico and Central/South America.
Additionally, TCA announced the promotions of Derek Davis to Executive VP/Chief Operating Officer; Kazutoshi Toba to Division Manager for Consumer Audio and ESOTERIC division; and named Les Luzar, Division Manager for Data Storage and Disc Publishing Products, to the company’s Executive Committee.
Davis, who joined TEAC America, Inc. in 1999, was previously VP/General Manager. He is a veteran of the consumer electronics industry, having served in various sales, finance/accounting and general management positions.
Toba is also a veteran of the consumer electronics industry, serving both TCA and parent company TEAC Corporation of Japan. He first served TCA in 1988, and was most recently Senior Liason/International Product Manager.
Luzar’s appointment to the Executive Committee adds an experienced sales perspective to TCA’s governing body, where both his field sales and division management expertise are highly valued.
